Otherwise — Privacy Policy
This policy describes personal data collected when you use the Otherwise mobile app. The legal entity name (expected sole proprietorship) will be updated later.
1. Data we collect

2. Purposes
- Account creation and verification
- Age gate (13+)
- Alternate scenario generation (core product)
- Notifications when a prediction is ready (with permission)
- Security, abuse prevention, product improvement
We do not sell or share data for advertising.
3. AI processing
Content is sent to Anthropic and/or OpenAI APIs. Per those providers’ API policies, data is not used for model training by default.
4. Storage and security
- Sensitive fields encrypted at rest
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt
- Hosting: Railway
5. Guest mode
After 30 days of inactivity, guest accounts and related data are deleted. You may upgrade with Apple or email anytime.
6. Your rights
Access (Profile → Export), rectification, erasure (Delete account), complaints via privacy@theotherwise.app or your supervisory authority.
7. Age
13+. Users under 13 cannot create an account.
8. Third parties
- Apple — sign-in, distribution, push as applicable
- Anthropic / OpenAI — AI processing
- Resend — email codes
- Railway — servers and database
